Illustrated example: a parent asks about the bins while her teen is busy with homework; together they look at a clear task and reward in Perko.

Illustrated example · Same request. A clearer conversation.

Expectations, not guesswork.Recognition, not just reminders.

One everyday challenge. Two perspectives.

Less talking past.
More working together.

“Take the bins out” sounds simple. Until homework, timing and different expectations get in the way.

01 / CLARITY

One plan. Not two assumptions.

What needs doing. By when. What support helps. What the reward will be.

A parent and teen move from crossed messages about chores and homework to looking at the same task and reward.
The parent’s side

“I want us to mean the same thing.”

Set a specific task, a time and a reward worth agreeing on.

A teen overwhelmed by competing requests sees one manageable next step on their phone.
The kid’s side

“Now I know what you’re asking.”

Understand the plan. Agree—or ask for help, smaller steps or more time.

02 / RECOGNITION

Their effort deserves to be seen.

A clear record of what was sent, what is waiting and what has been approved.

A parent sees a photo of the completed bin task on her phone, instead of wondering whether it was done.
The parent’s side

“I can see what happened.”

Review the work. Recognize it—or explain what still needs attention.

A teen stands beside the bin after completing the task; Perko shows the work sent and waiting for review.
The kid’s side

“Here’s what I did.”

Send the work, add an optional photo, or say where support is needed.

Sent is not approved. A timer or photo alone never approves a task.

03 / FOLLOW-THROUGH

The promise goes both ways.

The child shows their part. The guardian recognizes it and arranges the agreed reward.

A parent acknowledges completed work in the app and approves the promised movie reward.
The parent’s side

“I’ll keep my side of the plan.”

Authorized guardians review progress. The named guardian arranges delivery.

A smiling teen receives cinema tickets from their parent: the agreed reward becomes a shared experience.
The kid’s side

“My effort led to something.”

A shared experience, a choice, time with friends. A reward that matters to them.

Illustrated examples, not testimonials. Rewards are arranged by guardians. No automatic purchases.

The actual app

Clear on the screen.
Clear between you.

The plan, the review and the follow-through each have their own place.

01 / THE PLAN

Know the expectation.

Actual Perko Quick Task screen: Take the bins out, its time window, waiting for agreement, and the named reward giver.
02 / THE REVIEW

See what’s waiting.

Actual Perko screen: work sent on time is waiting for review, and the reward is still being worked toward.
03 / THE FOLLOW-THROUGH

Keep the promise visible.

Real app captures with example test data. Delivery is reported by the guardian, not independently verified.

A family doesn’t have just one shape.

More people.
A clear part for each.

Parents, stepparents, grandparents and other guardians. Coordinate the plans you share—without sharing everything.

Who sees and approves what?

Invite the people supporting your child. Choose what they can see and do. Each goal names who provides the reward. Joining a family does not unlock every private goal. A private request stays with its selected recipient.

What if adults see things differently?

Independent plans can remain different. Adults resolve changes to shared plans together; children are not asked to choose sides. Agreed changes go through the plan’s authorized update process. A discussion alone does not change a deadline.

One family. Room to grow.

Subscriptions and rewards are different.

Subscriptions pay for Perko, not for rewards. Guardians arrange and deliver rewards themselves. No gift-card checkout, purchased points or automatic reward delivery.

At launch, purchases and restores will be available only in the adult area of the iPhone app. Apple displays the final price before purchase. Subscriptions renew unless canceled; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

A little clarity.

Good questions.

What if a child needs help, not another reminder?

Children can ask a named guardian for help, smaller steps, more time or a different reward. Help agreed is not a changed deadline or reward: those need a separate plan update. Asking for help does not erase approved effort.

Can we start with one everyday task?

Yes. Use a Quick Task for a specific request, such as taking the bins out before soccer. Add an optional note or reference photo and agree on a time and reward. Work sent on time still needs guardian review. See Quick Task help or the first-plan guide.

Are completion photos required?

No. Completion photos are optional and help a guardian review a task. Photograph the work, not people, addresses or private documents. A photo is evidence for review, not proof that a task is automatically approved.

Is this a productivity or treatment app?

Perko is a family communication and follow-through tool. Tasks make expectations concrete; recognition makes effort visible. It does not diagnose, provide treatment, or claim proven improvements in relationships, symptoms or grades.

What happens if Plus ends?

Limits apply when adding more profiles or active reward goals. Existing progress, reviews, earned rewards, export and deletion stay available.

Where can I get help?

See support and account help, privacy information, or account deletion instructions.

Their effort. Your support. A shared next step.
