Privacy, made clear.
Perko helps families plan tasks and celebrate progress. We collect only the information needed to provide and protect that experience.
Effective September 11, 2026
Who Perko is for
A parent or legal guardian creates and controls the Perko family account. Children use profiles created by that adult. Child profiles do not require an email address, phone number, exact birthdate, location, school, contacts, or public username.
Information we collect
Parent account information
Name, email address, optional phone number, password in hashed form, profile photo if provided, notification choices, and account-security information.
Family and child-profile information
Family name, child nickname, broad age band, avatar, PIN in hashed form, tasks, routines, completion status, optional notes or completion photos, points, reward choices, approvals, and family progress.
Device and service information
Device identifiers created for app operation, push-notification tokens, app version, language, time zone, and limited technical logs needed for security, reliability, and support. Perko does not collect precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or browsing history.
How we use information
- Provide parent and child sign-in, family tasks, reminders, approvals, points, and rewards.
- Deliver notifications requested by the family.
- Protect accounts, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and answer support requests.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
Children’s privacy
Parents control child profiles and the information entered for them. Perko limits child information to what is needed for the family experience, does not enable public profiles or child-to-stranger messaging, and does not use child information for advertising. Retailer links and family purchases are reserved for the parent experience behind a parent safeguard.
A parent may review, correct, export, or delete their family’s information. Deleting the parent account deletes the associated child profiles and family activity.
Service providers
Perko uses carefully limited providers for hosting, database operation, transactional email, security, and push notifications. Firebase Cloud Messaging may process a device token and delivery diagnostics to deliver notifications. Apple processes information under its own policies when you download or use Perko on an Apple device. Providers may use information only to perform services for Perko and must protect it.
Retailer links
A parent may choose to open a retailer’s website to research a reward. Perko does not append a child name, task history, wish-list data, or family budget to those links. Once a parent leaves Perko, the retailer’s privacy policy applies.
Storage, security, and retention
Perko uses encrypted connections, access controls, hashed passwords and PINs, and restricted administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to prevent unauthorized access and respond to security concerns.
Active family data is kept while the account is in use. When a parent deletes the account, live account and family data is removed. Limited encrypted backup copies may remain for up to 30 days before automatic expiry. Narrow security or legal records may be retained only when required, separated from child-profile data, and removed when no longer necessary.
Your choices
- Change notification permissions in Perko or iOS Settings.
- Update family information inside Perko.
- Delete the account in Perko under Settings → Privacy & support → Delete account.
- Ask for access, correction, or a portable copy through Perko Support.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Perko changes. We will update the effective date and provide notice when a change materially affects how family information is used.
